Colleague tools design system
Improving the tools and services for the 23,000 colleagues at Nationwide became a key focus for the organisation. I was tasked with developing a design system that could be applied across the extensive range of platforms that colleagues use to service its customers. We had a clear goal to create a simplified and consistent experience for colleagues.
The current Nationwide Experience Language for web needed to be re-engineered for screens with a high density of information and for users that needed a consistent set of tools to work with, allowing them to focus on helping users and not struggling with inconsistent and hard to use systems.
Applying the NEL Colleague design system
I used the Mortgage Case Manager platform as the basis to design and develop the NEL colleague design system. This was a major project in itself, and working as lead UI within an agile team we worked with the colleagues that use the current systems every day to redesign the entire experience.
